“Calling Dr. Jim, where is Dr. Jim today?”
Spring of 2015 I knew something was wrong- I was experiencing severe fatigue and pain with weight loss, and then the diagnosis of Stage 4 Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer with a life expectancy of 4-6 months was confirmed.
But wait, I had not completed my journey here on Earth or perhaps I had been given the challenge of a new journey. I owed so much to so many… my family, my staff and my Patients.
I kept things a secret until it was necessary to confide in my family and 3 most trusted staff; KJ, Jenn and Shelby. I continued to work but on a more limited basis until the 1st of April of 2016 when I entered Hospice. Losing 70 lbs, having no energy and constant pain made it difficult while we spent a year interviewing and looking for my replacement.
I must say all our candidates were highly qualified and the final choice was difficult. Effective May 1st 2016, “All About Braces” will assume ownership of Colorado Orthodontics.
I feel lucky to have found All About Braces. All About Braces already is a well-established and well known practice in the orthodontic community. They have been voted best orthodontist for four years straight in 5280, they were also chosen as the number one orthodontist by Colorado Parent Magazine, The Colorado Community News Paper voted them the Best of the Best, and Health Tap just named them the number one orthodontist in the nation. You will see why we saw each other as a perfect fit. I have confidence that our teams will make for a smooth transition for all involved.
Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of each of your lives, and supporting Colorado Orthodontics. My hope is that we continue our old and build new relationships moving forward.
All About Braces, as you see from Dr. Jim's letter, is one of the most decorated and renowned practices in the state of Colorado. Dr. Baskin and Dr. Mershon have been practicing together for 20 years. They run their practices as a family, just like Dr. Jim. We urge you to click the link above and check them out! Dr. Baskin even has some southern ties happening in her life right now. Her son, Gabe is going to Emory in Georgia. This is the college that Dr. Jim graduated from. This is just one example of the many areas that they have in common.
You will still see all the same faces. All the team members are here to help make this transition smooth and only better our patient’s experience. We are dedicated to providing you the highest quality treatment in a pleasant and comfortable environment.
Having a beautiful smile can help you look and feel better. We realize the importance of having a healthy, beautiful smile, and offer advanced braces to help you achieve the smile of your dreams.
